Face of Half Dome at Springtime - Signed Fine Art Print

The Photograph

There's no photographer nor camera that can truly capture a photo that will do this epic, 2000 foot (610 m) granite monolith justice. I was standing approximately four miles away form Half Dome when I made this photograph. My Sigma telephoto lens really helps to "get in there" and get the details. I also used a yellow filter; in homage to the iconic Ansel Adams photograph of Half Dome from 1927. I wasn't as close as he was to the face of Half Dome but the results are very similar. You also may notice the icicles near the top of the rock face. I have been told that they are over 300+ ft (90+ m) long. And those trees in the foreground? They are pine trees. Some of them over 100 ft (30 m) high.
